Essential reading to keep up with the latest and greatest technology in the crypto/decentralized space

In order to keep up with the latest technology, theory, and ideas in the crypto and decentralized space, our team shares a list of blogs, Twitter accounts, and and other resources (shared readingroom, etc). This has proven to be essential to keeping us all up-to-date and on the same page when it comes to technology evolving on a daily basis. Since sharing knowledge is so critical to out own team, we thought it might be useful to share some of our favorite resources with the community as well. So without further ado, here’s Textile’s constantly evolving, artisanally-curated blogroll, in no particular order:

OpenMined

This one is brand new, but is already pushing out gold. This is the place to turn for general announcements, tutorials, and other OpenMined community news. This will be the ‘source of truth’ for all things OpenMined. We’re been tracking this community and project for a while now, particularly as it provides a framework for secure, distributed computation.

Welcome to the OpenMined Blog!
After some time of waiting, OpenMined officially has a blog! Actually, if we're getting technical, we have two blogs…

Coral Health

We’ve been following these folks for a while now. Their technical posts on all things crypto (and even IPFS) are top-notch. They also have a personal data vision that is in-line with our own, so we love keeping up-to-date on their progress.

OpenBazaar

Much of our early development work on our mobile app drew inspiration from the OpenBazaar code-base, so it is only natural that we follow along in their progress. They also have a ‘privacy first’ mission, which puts them in the ‘good people’ category in our books.

IPFS Starlog

This one’s not particularly active, but given that IPFS is our core datastore, we like to keep tabs on the latest releases, tutorials, and developer conferences. This is the official IPFS blog, but there are other IPFS-based blogs that you might also want to check out.

Computes

Computes is a secure decentralized peer-to-peer mesh computing platform perfect for AI, IoT, and AR/VR. We’ve been passively tracking computes for a while now, as our longer-term vision for Textile includes distributed, secure computation on personal data. They’ve even already covered Ðapps and truly decentralized APIs… amazing stuff.

ConsenSys

ConsenSys has been around the block (get it), and ConsenSys Media is their publication that highlights news, insights, and education on all things decentralization from leaders in the blockchain industry. For marketing-heavy content, this is a good place to go. Lots of big-picture stuff and guest posts. Go here for Ethereum updates and general ‘decentralized’ discussions.

ConsenSys - Medium
This is the first post in a short series where we explore the past, present, and future of China's implementation of…

MIT Technology Review

What can we way, the MIT Technology Review has been reporting on important technologies and innovators since 1899, so it is a natural place to keep up-to-date on relevant technological advances. While not directly crypto-/decentralized-focused, you can go for the exciting headlines, and stay for the serious science and technical-innovation posts.

Blockstack

Blockstack is a new internet for decentralized apps where users own their data. They are heavily focused on making Dapp development easy, which we like. While we aren’t currently using much of their infrastructure, they’ve got some very interesting ideas about data ownership and are worth a read.

Hackernoon

Another publication not directly devoted to crypto/decentralization, but these topics have received pretty good coverage here lately. We’ve even published an article or two here recently. In general, these are great posts for general developer interest, with a range from tutorial style posts to pull-blown futurist rants — fun for the whole family!
