It's that time of year again, where we pack our bags (virtually) and go (virtually) to EthDenver! Virtually. That's right, this year's hackathon has gone fully digital. We're excited to sponsor one of our favorite events of the year. Being virtual, we think this year's hackathon has the opportunity to reach even more participants than ever before. To match the growth, Textile is preparing our biggest contribution of perks, team support, and bounties ever!
Textile's participation at EthDenver really got started three years ago, where we helped run an organically grown IPFS "help desk". The reward of helping hundreds of developers race to build their ideas got us hooked. Last year, we partnered with Protocol Labs and others to make the IPFS help desk official. We gave technical help, project feedback, and prizes to even more projects. This year, we're continuing the tradition.
What is Textile
For any Ethereum developers that aren't familiar with Textile, we offer open-source tools, hosted APIs, and dedicated infrastructure that makes it easy to build on IPFS and Filecoin. We provide a database API, object storage, mailbox API, and more. On top of that, we make it easy to tap into the IPFS and Filecoin networks in minutes, which is particularly valuable for hackathon teams.
What is EthDenver
EthDenver is the world’s largest annual Web3 software building competition and blockchain education event. The event will take place virtually, February 5-12, 2021, and consist of a week-long hackathon, along with content and free educational workshops by industry luminaries, virtual-reality art exhibits, and other immersive virtual experiences. Textile at EthDenver 2021
We've got a lot planned for this year's event, but here are a few things we can share already.
- Bounties. We're planning some awesome ones for teams that tap into IPFS and Filecoin.
- Filecoin. We will have easy ways for hackathon teams to earn Filecoin during the event to use for storage on the network!
- Credits. We will have API and infrastructure credits so teams can go big using the Textile Hub.
- Support. We love helping teams, and we'll be working non-stop to help them scope, build, and win at EthDenver.
